Here is a photograph of my former stepfather, Ron Bolen, hard at work at one of his favorite hobbies, cooking barbeque. This was taken at Mom's house on Fourth Street Court NE in Hickory, and it depicts Ron as I remember him from when he first became a part of our family. (Well, the hat was mine.) We had a lot of fun with that big cooker in the background, and put on a couple of really mighty feasts back in those days.It is interesting how one's mind freezes people in time. I am older now than Ron was in the photo.
