Time for Camping

My friend Johnny called from Atlanta last weekend to say that he and his family are coming to the mountains next weekend. Weather permitting, we're going to go camping next Friday night. According to the backcountry ranger station, Abrams Creek campground opened March 13, and Look Rock will open May 8. Abrams Creek is smaller, but is wonderful for kids, especially if you get a camping spot on the river. Both campgrounds have cool synchronized fireflies in the spring, though I think we're a bit early in the season for them yet. Sarah loves fairies, and she's at the age to be absolutely delighted by those fireflies.
