I am happy to report that the sugar white beaches of South Walton County, at least here at Seagrove Beach, are still sugar white. On the down side, the boys found oiled sand when we got here yesterday, including a tar patty the size of a quarter. So far, however, we haven't seen a lot of oil, and the beach is full of happy tourists enjoying the sun and surf. We have seen crews of workers scanning the beaches, and we saw a line of boats pass by this morning as if they were on a patrol for oil off the coast.
Unfortunately, we don't have wireless at our condo, but we are able to get service at the condo across the street where Mom and Les and Fraz and Laura are staying. Since their place is on the ocean side of the street, this will be our command post anyway, and we'll leave the laptop here for everyone to use for the week.
