We spent the evening in downtown Knoxville last weekend seeing John Prine play the Tennessee Theater, which is a wonderful venue to see any kind of show. Before the show, we strolled around Market Square, which was hosting an event as part of the Dogwood Arts Festival.
Our local NBC affiliate was broadcasting from Market Square, which we knew because we were watching it before we drove to Knoxville. They were putting up their gear by the time we got there, but Sherry and Sarah managed to get Todd Howell, the station's Chief Meteorologist, to pose for a picture with them.
We met our friends Scott and Heather before the show. They made it in from Nashville just before the show, despite heavy interstate traffic.
This was the third time I've seen John Prine, including a show where he was the lead act for Arlo Guthrie. It was an excellent show, and they played all the songs I wanted to hear.
