Treaty of Fort Jackson

On August 9, 1814, the Treaty of Fort Jackson was signed following the defeat of the Red Stick Creek at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend by American troops including Tennesseans David Crockett and Sam Houston commanded by Major General Andrew Jackson. In the treaty, the Creeks ceded vast tracts of what are now Alabama and Georgia to the United States government.
